Kagoshima Prefecture
The sun shines almost every day in this warmer tropical environment which produces a delicious balance in the Kagoshima Black beef. Of the four Wagyu cattle breeds, the overwhelming majority is Japanese Black beef, with the other three breeds combined comprising only about 10% in total (including Japanese Brown, Japanese Shorthorn, and Japanese Polled). Of the 90% that is Japanese Black, the largest subset is Kagoshima Wagyu.
