Shipping policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
The Standard Meat Club ships premium frozen Wagyu and other perishable products. Because these products are perishable and temperature sensitive, the terms below apply to every order. By placing an order, you agree to this Shipping Policy, our Refund Policy, and our Terms of Service.
1. Where We Ship
- We ship to residential and commercial addresses in the contiguous United States.
- Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories may be subject to additional charges, or may be cancelled and refunded at our discretion.
- We do not ship to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, freight forwarders, or international destinations.
2. Processing and Ship Days
- Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days of payment, excluding weekends and holidays.
- Perishable orders ship Monday through Wednesday only, so packages are never held in a carrier facility over the weekend. Orders that miss the Wednesday ship window ship the following week.
- We may hold shipments around holidays, during extreme heat, or during severe weather to protect product quality. If your order cannot ship within the stated timeframe, we will notify you and you may accept the delay or cancel for a full refund of the unshipped items.
- Delivery dates shown at checkout or in tracking are estimates, not guarantees.
3. Shipping Methods and Charges
- Perishable orders ship via UPS Next Day Air or UPS 2nd Day Air. Available methods and rates are calculated at checkout.
- Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, including on orders that are refused, unclaimed, or returned as undeliverable.
- Larger orders may ship in multiple boxes, which may arrive separately or on different days.
- Partner products sold through our store (such as caviar and knives) ship directly from the partner, may arrive separately with their own tracking, and are subject to that partner's shipping and claims terms.
4. Packaging, Dry Ice, and Arrival Condition
- Products are vacuum sealed and packed frozen in insulated packaging with dry ice or gel packs.
- It is normal for dry ice to fully dissipate during transit. This alone does not mean your product is compromised.
- Product that arrives partially thawed, still contains ice crystals, or is at or below 40°F is safe to refreeze or refrigerate per USDA guidance, and is considered to have arrived in acceptable condition.
- Dry ice warning: Do not touch dry ice with bare hands, do not place it in a sealed container, and dispose of it in a well ventilated area away from children and pets. We are not responsible for injury or damage resulting from improper handling of dry ice.
5. Delivery and Transfer of Responsibility
- You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address and for making sure someone is available to receive the package on the delivery date.
- Signatures are not required. Where a package is left is at the sole discretion of the carrier.
- Once the carrier marks your package as delivered, responsibility for the package and its contents passes to you. We are not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, or left unattended after carrier confirmed delivery.
- Product must be placed in a freezer (0°F or below) or refrigerator immediately upon delivery. We are not responsible for product that spoils after delivery due to delayed retrieval or improper storage.
6. Address Errors, Refused, and Undeliverable Packages
- Address changes can only be made before your order is fulfilled. Contact us right away if you need to make a change.
- Any carrier address correction, redirect, or re-delivery fees are your responsibility.
- Orders that are refused, unclaimed, or returned as undeliverable due to an incorrect or incomplete address are not eligible for a refund or replacement, since perishable product cannot be resold. Reshipment, if requested, is at your expense.
7. Carrier Delays
Once your order is handed to the carrier, transit is outside of our control. We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, weather, natural disasters, mechanical issues, labor actions, mis-scans, or other events beyond our control. If a delay causes your order to arrive in unacceptable condition, follow the claims process in Section 8 and we will review it.
8. Damage and Temperature Claims
Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery. To be eligible for review, a claim must:
- Be submitted to sales@thestandardmeatclub.com within 24 hours of carrier confirmed delivery.
- Include your order number, photos of the outer box and shipping label, the opened packaging and contents, and each affected item.
- For temperature claims, include a photo of a food thermometer reading showing the product above 40°F.
Keep all product and packaging until your claim is resolved. Product that has been discarded, cooked, or consumed before we review the claim is not eligible. Claims submitted after the 24 hour window are not eligible.
Approved claims are resolved at our sole discretion by replacement of the affected items or store credit. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the purchase price of the affected items. Shipping charges are not refundable.
9. Gift Orders
- The purchaser is responsible for providing the recipient's correct address and confirming the recipient will be available to receive a perishable package.
- We are not responsible for gift orders that spoil because the recipient was unavailable, unaware of the delivery, or did not refrigerate the product promptly.
- Claims on gift orders must be submitted by the purchaser within the same 24 hour window.
10. Wholesale, Distributor, and Trade Orders
Unless otherwise agreed in a signed writing, the following terms apply to all wholesale, distributor, foodservice, and trade orders:
- All orders ship FOB Origin, St. Louis, Missouri. Title and risk of loss pass to the buyer when the order is tendered to the carrier.
- Buyer is responsible for all freight, fuel, liftgate, inside delivery, appointment, re-delivery, detention, and other accessorial charges.
- Buyer must inspect each shipment at delivery, including product temperature, and note any shortage, visible damage, or temperature issue on the bill of lading before signing. A clean signature on the bill of lading confirms the shipment was received complete and in good condition.
- Claims for shortage, damage, or temperature issues must be submitted in writing within 24 hours of delivery, with the signed bill of lading, photos, and temperature readings. Freight claims against the carrier are the buyer's responsibility; we will provide supporting documentation on request.
- Buyer is responsible for maintaining proper frozen storage and cold chain from the time of delivery.
- Wholesale perishable product is not returnable. Our total liability is limited to the invoice price of the affected product, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Ship dates provided for wholesale orders are estimates. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, weather, or supply conditions beyond our control.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. The version posted on our website at the time your order is placed applies to that order.
