The World's Best Steak
2026 World Steak Challenge
A purebred Wagyu filet from Queensland just beat 450+ steaks to be named World's Best Steak
Every year the World Steak Challenge puts the best beef on the planet on one table. In 2026, more than 450 steaks from over 20 countries were judged blind by a panel of more than 60 industry experts, scored on quality, marbling and consistency.
The overall winner, and the World's Best grainfed fillet, was Senku Purebred Wagyu from Queensland, Australia.
What makes Senku different
The genetics. "Purebred" has a real definition here: at least 93.75% Fullblood Wagyu genetics, the fourth cross or higher.
The time. The winning steer was bred in Torrens Creek, North Queensland, then fed for 400 days on a Japanese-style ration. Typical grain-fed beef is finished in a fraction of that time. The long, slow finish is where the marbling comes from.
The result. The Senku cuts we carry grade marble score 8 to 9+, the top of the Australian scale. Expect a rich, buttery steak that still eats like beef, with a deep flavor that holds up to a hard sear.
